plan B

We were told once upon a time that nothing goes as planned in the foster care & adoption world.

I would agree with that wholeheartedly.

We have recently found out about some changes in the foster care program in our agency, as well as some new information–both of which make it challenging and unlikely that we would be able to adopt through this program, at least not easily.

We’re not entirely sure where to go from here, though we have some ideas.  We’re actively working on Plan B because Plan A might not be something we can handle……

Oh Emily, how frustrating all of this must be. I pray that God will give you clear guidance on what to do next. K&S have been approved by their agency, and now are waiting for a birth mother to select them. Could happen quickly but also could be another very long wait. This stuff is not for the faint of heart, is it?

In the midst of all of this, may you and your precious family have a wonderful Christmas together! My kids start coming in later this week so am gearing up for lots of fun here :)

Foster care is tough! And you do get attached to kids that might not stay – but it is so worth it! As someone who’s been there, I know how discouraged you may feel, but babies come into care all the time, you just have to take that risk. Our babies came to us at 3 months & 8 months – finally adopted nearly 2 years later.
